Patton Recreation Center
City of Detroit, Parks & Recreation
The Patton Recreation Center asked the firm of Ralph Calder & Associates, in association with David Milling and Associates, to develop a design that provides infrastructural improvements for the natatorium and visually transforms the facility's exterior. The structure, now under construction, wraps a glazed brick façade with a striking pattern around the renovated and reorganized interior spaces. The 45,000 square foot project will provide needed lobby space, locker rooms, offices, and ground maintenance equipment storage, as well as rooms for weightlifting, dance, physical fitness, and senior citizen activities.
