Lodi Library

Medina County District Library

The Library's five-acre site is located a short distance east of town. The 14,000-square-foot Library is located at the highest point on this sloping, wooded site. The exterior of the building is brick and the main interior spaces are heavy timber construction. Local citizens and library staff asked DMA for a Library design that takes maximum advantage of views available from the sloping site while providing spaces that feel like a community living room. These objectives were addressed in this new facility, which features a naturally-lit, timber-framed Reading Room, a Quiet Reading Area with stone fireplace, and a high-ceilinged Multi-purpose Room.
