Flint Public Library
The firm of David Milling Architects (DMA), in association with Anders Dahlgren, is currently preparing a Needs Assessment and Building Evaluation for the Flint Public Library. Following a series of Staff Workshops to shape the Library's program for the 21st Century, DMA developed two alternate designs to test the feasibility of renovating and expanding the existing Library on the Flint Cultural Center Campus. Like all of DMA's work, these alternate designs are guided by the principles of sustainable design. Each design reuses the existing building to the greatest extent possible, while positioning the Library as a Gateway to the neighboring cultural institutions.
