Prior to merging with DMA, Ralph Calder & Associates created an atrium entrance feature as part of the 30,000-sq.-ft. addition and renovation of the existing Rankin Student Center. The high-ceilinged, glassy entrance serves to pull students into the building and direct them to service, recreational, or bookstore areas. Custom carpet design defines these areas and organizes student traffic patterns. The highly visible snack bar signage--a curving glass block wall with neon lighting--creates a pleasing and visually exciting student recreation space.
